The Trade Chart
The Trade Chart is an interactive, TradingView - style environment built directly into your journal. Rather than just typing numbers into boxes, you can visually construct, review, and mark up your trades exactly as they appeared in the market.

The “Two-Way Sync” Workflow
To make journaling as frictionless as possible, the chart and the input forms (Trade Orders, Stop Losses, Targets) are perfectly synced.
- Visual Editing: You can click and drag your Target, Stop Loss, or Entry lines directly on the chart. As you drag them, the input boxes above the chart will instantly update with the exact precise price data.
- Manual Editing: Prefer precision? If you manually type a specific price into the Trade Orders or Stop Loss boxes, the line on the chart will instantly snap to that new level.
This flexibility allows you to rapidly build a trade visually, and then fine-tune the exact decimals in the input boxes if needed.
Toolbar & Chart Features
The top toolbar of the chart gives you everything you need to reconstruct your exact trading setup. Hover over the toolbar icons to see the exact action before you draw, snap, scan, or manage indicators.
Timeframes
View your trade from a micro or macro perspective. Use the top-left menu to switch between the following timeframes: 30m, 1h, 4h, 8h, 12h, 1D, 3D, and 1W.
Drawing Tools
Mark up your chart to document your technical thesis:
- Fibonacci Retracement: Use the Fib icon to draw price retracement levels between two points.
- Horizontal Lines: Use the
-icon to draw horizontal price levels for support, resistance, entries, stops, or targets. - Customization: Double-click on any line you draw to open the styling menu. Here, you can add a custom Label (max 20 characters) and choose from 8 different colors to keep your chart organized.
Magnet Mode
Next to the line tool is the Magnet icon.
- Magnet Mode ON: Your crosshair snaps to candle prices, making it easier to anchor drawings exactly on candle opens, highs, lows, or closes.
- Magnet Mode OFF: Your crosshair moves freely, allowing you to place lines anywhere in empty space.
Indicators
Click the Indicators dropdown to overlay technical data on your chart. Enabled indicators appear as a simple list in the toolbar. Click on any indicator name in the list to toggle it on or off.
Available indicators include:
- Volume: Display volume bars to analyze trading strength and liquidity at key price levels.
- RSI: A momentum oscillator for measuring overbought and oversold conditions.
- 50 SMA: A classic support/resistance level for medium-term trend analysis.
- 100 SMA: A slower-moving trend filter for longer-term directional bias.
- 9 EMA: A fast trend signal for short-term momentum.
- 21 EMA: A medium-term trend direction signal.
- 50 EMA: A broader trend reference for larger market structure.
- 100 EMA: A key dynamic support/resistance for swing traders.
- Bollinger Bands: A volatility envelope useful for identifying overbought/oversold extremes and breakout setups.
Pattern Scanner
Use the pattern icon to display trading patterns detected in the visible chart range for the selected timeframe. This includes candlestick patterns, volume spikes, RSI divergences, and other technical patterns. This is useful when you want to review whether your trade aligned with recognized setups without leaving the chart.
Pattern Visibility Options:
You have four filtering modes to customize which patterns are displayed on your chart:
- Hidden: No patterns will be displayed on the chart canvas. Use this when you want a clean view without technical pattern overlays.
- Unconfirmed: Show only forming structural setups - patterns that are in progress but not yet fully validated. Useful for early trade identification.
- Confirmed: Display only fully confirmed technical patterns where all pattern requirements have been completed. Best for confirmed entry signals.
- All: Show every pattern at every state - both unconfirmed and confirmed together on the same chart view.
Selective Pattern Toggling:
When you select either Confirmed or Unconfirmed mode, you can further deselect or select individual pattern types to customize exactly which patterns appear. For example, if you only care about candlestick patterns and volume spikes in confirmed mode, you can disable other pattern types like RSI divergences and focus only on those.
Timezone Management
At the far right of the toolbar, you will see the current timezone the chart is using, such as UTC +02:00.
- Important:
UTC +02:00is not changed from the chart toolbar. It is the timezone setting configured inside your Account Settings. Update your account timezone there, and the chart will use that setting when it loads.
Chart Layout Controls
The top-right corner of the chart container offers powerful layout controls:
-
Pin/Unpin Chart:
- Pinned (Default): The chart remains locked to the side panel of your screen while you scroll through trade entry forms and notes below. This is especially useful when entering trade details or editing existing trades. You can manually move your targets, stoploss, and buy/sell orders directly on the chart by dragging them, and their updated values will instantly sync to the input fields on the left side.
- Unpinned: When you unpin the chart, it expands to full width at the bottom of the page. This maximizes your chart canvas when you need maximum screen real estate for detailed technical analysis or drawing intricate patterns.
-
Fullscreen Expansion: Click the fullscreen icon to launch the entire trade chart into a dedicated fullscreen view. This gives your structural analysis complete visual focus and removes all other UI elements, letting you work with maximum workspace scaling.
-
Minimize: Click the minimize icon to collapse the chart container and instantly clear screen room for typing detailed trade notes, buy/sell order details, marking trade setups, documenting mistakes, selecting which patterns were spotted on the chart, and analyzing R-Multiple and other analytics.
Pro Tip for Reviewing: When doing your end-of-week review, use the horizontal lines to mark where you wanted to enter versus where you actually entered (the automated Buy/Sell labels). This visually exposes “FOMO” entries or poor execution timing!

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers based on this page's topic.
Dragging entry, stop-loss, or target lines directly on the chart automatically updates the numeric price fields in real time; conversely, typing precise prices into the order input boxes snaps the chart lines directly to those exact levels.
You can toggle pattern visibility between four modes: Hidden (no overlays), Unconfirmed (forming setups in progress), Confirmed (fully validated pattern signals), or All (displaying both confirmed and unconfirmed patterns simultaneously).
Pinning locks the chart in a side panel alongside trade entry forms for side-by-side visual order adjustment, whereas unpinning expands the chart canvas to full width at the bottom of the page for focused technical analysis.
