Pattern Scanner

Manually hunting for specific technical setups across hundreds of charts is exhausting. The Pattern Scanner completely automates this process.

It continuously monitors the market across multiple brokers and timeframes, instantly alerting you the moment a predefined candlestick formation (like a Bullish Engulfing or Bearish Harami) completes.

The Detection Table

The main dashboard lists every recently detected pattern. By using the filters at the top, you can easily isolate specific setups (e.g., “Only show Bullish Engulfing patterns on the 4-hour timeframe”).

The table columns provide a quick summary of the setup and can be hovered over for deeper definitions.

To investigate a setup, click its row in the table. This opens the Pattern Details view, which provides a comprehensive, automated analysis of the setup.

Trading Pair Context

Confirms exactly what asset you are looking at and on which exchange, including its base/quote asset and market type.

Trading Pattern Stats

This panel provides crucial mathematical context for the pattern:

  • Price (at occurance) & (current): Compare where the pattern locked in vs. where it is right now.
  • RSI & Volume Data: Review the RSI and volume values at the moment the pattern formed, which are critical for confirmation.
  • Confirmation Strength & Confidence Tier: View the system-generated assessment of the setup’s quality, based on factors like ATR-based breakout strength.

Trade Setup

The integrated Trade Setup box provides a suggested trade plan for the specific pattern:

  • Buy-stop @: The suggested entry price, typically just beyond the pattern’s extremes for confirmation.
  • Stop: The suggested stop-loss price.
  • Target: The suggested take-profit price.
  • R-Multiple: The risk-to-reward ratio for the trade (e.g., 2 for a 1:2 ratio).

Formation Summary (“What it means”)

A dedicated text summary directly explains the meaning and context of the formation. It can provide context like: “A bullish reversal: a long lower wick shows buyers rejecting lower prices after a decline. Confirmed by the next candle, so higher conviction.”

Confluence Analysis (Pros & Cons)

This section provides a structured breakdown of the strength and weaknesses of the entire setup, including:

  • Pros: e.g., “Confirmed - the next candle closed beyond the pattern’s extreme.” or “RSI (50) neutral - no momentum edge either way.”
  • Cons: e.g., “Marginal break (0.15 ATR, weak confidence) - shallow confirmation.” or “Counter-trend - SMA-100 falling (-0.00%); the reversal fights the bigger trend.”

Visual Formation Charts

A detailed, side-by-side view of the formation’s composition:

  • Price: An isolated OHLCV chart of the specific pattern candles.
  • RSI: A chart showing the RSI indicator.
  • SMA: The formation relative to key moving averages (SMA 50, 100), including trend and regime analysis.
  • Volume: A bar chart showing volume participation.

Integrated Trade Chart

Finally, view the full Trade Chart for the pair. The system now enhances the chart by:

  • Adding Pattern Markers: Markers are direction-coded: a green up-arrow below the bar for bullish setups, a red down-arrow above the bar for bearish ones, plus an amber circle on the confirmation candle.
  • Visualizing Trade Levels: Directly overlaying the suggested trade setup levels (Buy-stop, Stop, Target).
  • Adding Indicators: Plotting the moving averages (50 SMA, 100 SMA) and other selected indicators. This lets you visually verify the entire setup before clicking “Plan a trade.”

Quick answers based on this page's topic.

The system evaluates factors like ATR-based breakout magnitude, RSI values at occurrence, volume expansion, and higher-timeframe trend alignment (such as SMA 50/100) to grade setup quality.

The Trade Setup section provides precise price calculations for a confirmation Buy-stop entry, protective Stop-loss, Take-profit Target, and the resulting R-Multiple (risk-to-reward ratio).

The chart overlays distinct markers at the exact trigger candle, renders visual lines for Buy-stop, Stop, and Target levels, and plots technical indicators such as the 50 and 100 SMA for immediate visual confirmation.
